Working with Janet to create the stationery for their wedding was an amazingly inspirational creative process that allowed me to experiment with new ideas and printing methods with Janet's creative mind at the helm. We paired gray letterpress with alternating gold and silver foil stamping on double-thick cotton paper (half the guests received gold invitations and the other half received silver), and the back of each piece formed a gold foil-stamped topographical map of the venue area that fit together like a puzzle (my favorite touch by far). The suites were tied with hand-woven Silk and Willow twine, and the envelopes were finished with whimsical calligraphy, vintage stamps featuring woodland animals, and a pearly white wax seal. Every piece was unique and cohesive all at the same time.
The wedding day stationery featured alternating gold and silver foil-stamped menus (tied with feathers and twine at each place setting), foil-stamped escort cards, and the most beautiful ceremony program booklets inspired by a vintage book cover, in alternating shades of dusty blue and green with foil-stamped headings on the inserts. I also created a draped silk banner with the lyrics "This must be the place" for the reception entryway, a final unexpected nod to the event's geographical theme. Storied Events nailed it with the overall design as usual, and Belathee's gorgeous images captured the warm winter magic of the day.
