Because Taylor is the founder of Chicago-based Amelia Cole Events, she and I had already worked together once before on a styled shoot, so I was honored when she asked me to create stationery for her and Dan.
From the beginning, Taylor knew that she wanted stationery with a classic but organic feel to it. The floral installations by Life in Bloom were one of the most important elements of the wedding for Taylor, so we took greenery and floral as an inspiration point for their stationery. To reflect the couple's classic, yet organic aesthetic, we incorporated soft pastel florals into a custom crest, bordered by soft watercolor lines. The watercolor lettering balanced the clean, classic aesthetic by adding a whimsical touch. For a unique twist on the classic escort card, we used gold wax seal numbers to assign guests to their tables (displayed beautifully on Life in Bloom’s Boxwood wall), and the crest served as a cohesive design element that could be repurposed on other day-of items such as menus and a custom-printed guest book.
